Ian Crocker

Swimming has shaped who Ian is. It has taught him discipline, resilience, humility, and countless lessons that extend far beyond the pool.

As a swimmer, Ian achieved his lifelong dream of competing at the Olympic Games, winning five Olympic medals and setting world records along the way. Yet, his greatest appreciation for the sport comes not from the medals or records, but from the opportunities it created, the relationships it built, and the lessons it continues to teach.

Today, Ian is passionate about helping young athletes discover their own potential through swimming. Whether working with beginners learning the fundamentals or elite athletes pursuing championship goals, he believes the pool provides a unique environment to develop confidence, character, and a strong work ethic.

Ian's mission is simple: help every swimmer become the best version of themselves, both in and out of the water.

Coaching philosophy

Ian believes great coaching goes beyond fast times. Ian believes success in swimming, and in life, comes from consistently doing the little things well. Excellence is built through daily habits, attention to detail, and a willingness to embrace challenges.

His coaching philosophy centers on creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and inspired to pursue goals they may not yet believe are possible. Ian emphasizes technical excellence, accountability, and personal responsibility while helping swimmers develop confidence, resilience, and a genuine love for the sport.

While swimming is often measured in seconds, Ian believes the most meaningful victories happen beyond the scoreboard. The lessons learned through competition, teamwork, perseverance, and overcoming adversity help shape young people into successful adults.

Above all, Ian wants every athlete in his program to become a better swimmer, a better teammate, and a better person than when they arrived.

Athletic achievements

Ian began swimming in Maine as an 8 year old child. Despite the state not having a 50m pool, he managed to qualify for his first Olympic trials in 2000, as a 17 year old. Shortly after the Sydney Olympics, he moved to Texas to swim for Eddie Reese as a Texas Longhorn and the rest is history. After 18 years of competition, 9 for the US National Team, 7 world records and 5 Olympic medals, Ian decided it was time to give back to the sport that had changed his life.

  • Qualified for his first Olympic Trials in the 100m Butterfly after failing to qualify in the 100m Free, as he anticipated.

  • 4-time NCAA Champion in the 100m Butterfly.

  • 23-time All American while at UT-Austin.

  • While known primarily as a butterflyer, he has broken a world record in the Freestyle too.

  • Has held over 7 world records, and lowered his own records another 7 times cumulatively.

  • He was the first man ever to swim the 100m Fly under 51 seconds.

  • He has competed in three Olympics and has 5 medals - 3 golds, a silver, and a bronze.

  • He held the World Record for the 100 Fly for over 6 years, quite a feat in the Phelps years.

Hayley Mortimer

Hayley's swimming journey began in Texas age-group swimming, where her passion for the sport quickly developed into a pursuit of excellence. Through years of dedication and hard work, she rose to become a national champion and two-time world record holder, competing at the highest levels of the sport.

Along the way, Hayley experienced both the triumphs and challenges that come with chasing ambitious goals. Those experiences shaped her belief in perseverance, resilience, and the importance of staying true to yourself, lessons she now shares with the athletes she coaches.

Having spent a lifetime in and around the pool, Hayley is passionate about helping swimmers discover their potential, build confidence, and develop the skills necessary for success both in and out of the water.

Coaching philosophy

Hayley believes great coaching is about much more than fast times and perfect technique. While she is passionate about stroke mechanics and technical development, her primary goal is to help athletes build confidence, discipline, resilience, and a lifelong love for the sport.

Her coaching style is energetic, direct, and supportive. She strives to create an environment where swimmers feel challenged to grow, encouraged to take risks, and empowered to become the best versions of themselves. By combining high expectations with genuine support, Hayley helps athletes develop both as competitors and as people.

Hayley is especially passionate about helping young athletes embrace their individuality, trust in their abilities, and learn the value of teamwork. She believes that success is not defined solely by a time on the clock, but by the character, courage, and confidence developed through the journey.

Whether an athlete is learning the fundamentals or pursuing championship-level goals, Hayley's mission is to help every swimmer grow in confidence, overcome obstacles, and discover what they are truly capable of achieving.
